Since going public with my frustrations about the problems with our Omnicell robot and our two PS24 Rx collection points I’ve had numerous colleagues contact me with similar experiences. One colleague asked about my experiences with the Omnicell Rx Collection Kiosk

I have 2xPS24 prescription collection kiosks. I bought them from Gary and Rsyzard who owned the business before Omnicell acquired them
In the early days we had a few problems. We’d phone Gary or Ryszard and we’d have a solution within a few minutes. If they couldn’t solve the problem they’d physically attend the site next day. Both being pharmacists they understood our world and were brilliant to deal with .
Then Omnicell bought the company and the nightmare began. Endless reliability problems. No attempt to solve them or do any root-cause analysis.
Patients encountered issues collecting their meds and my staff lost confidence in the machines. This went on for months
Fortunately I still had Gary’s Paragpuri’s contact details. (Gary and I go back a long way) He managed to find someone in Omnicell to do an audit. It turned out that
one machine was pretty reliable and the other had numerous problems. The audit showed that Omnicell had updated the software in one PS24 but not the other. Once they eventually updated the second machine it’s been much more reliable
But the bottom line is that the company is a complete disaster. I would not trust anything they say. Their support is appalling and I would not risk doing future business with them at any price.
Since I went public about my concerns I’ve had many colleagues contact me. My problems are by no means unique
There are several other suppliers for dispensary robots and Rx collection points. I don’t have sufficient experience to make a recommendation but one thing I can say for sure?
AVOID OMNICELL AT ALL COSTS
